Job Description
A Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in offices, commercial buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, or residential properties. They ensure that all assigned areas are clean, safe, and presentable by following established cleaning procedures and health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, kitchens, hallways, and other designated areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
• Dust furniture, fixtures, windows, and equipment.
• Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly.
• Replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other consumables.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
• Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to supervisors.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and according to instructions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required).
• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to stand, bend, lift, and walk for extended periods.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
